Sam Dodd

Sam Dodd developed an interest in art at an early age. With a love of wildlife and nature together with an artistic Father, was all the inspiration needed to pursue a creative course. She studied Art Foundation at Yeovil College and on completion, gained A-Level Art and a National Diploma in Art and Design. Sam has undertaken many commissions including; portraits, pets, houses, and landscapes, her work has also been exhibited at local galleries and shows. Having worked at a Picture Framers as a specialist paint finisher for many years, Sam now uses the skills she acquired to hand finish her own frames ,thus giving the paintings their own unique individuality.

She is currently studying for a Diploma in Botanical Illustration. Whilst continuing with her love of the acrylic medium and the freedom they allow, the course, which requires detailed studies in watercolour, has brought a new dimension to her work, incorporating a passion for gardening and plants with a more disciplined and precise style of painting.

Sam lives near Sherborne, Dorset with her Husband and two children.
